Why Choose Us As Your ENT Specialist?

Dr Leslie Koh manages a wide range of ear, nose, throat, head, and neck conditions commonly seen in both adults and children. Care is focused on careful assessment, clear explanation, and appropriate management based on individual symptoms and clinical findings.

Ear Conditions

Ear-related concerns can affect hearing, balance, and daily comfort. Assessment begins with a detailed history and examination of the ear canal and eardrum.

- Ear infections may present with pain, discharge, or hearing changes and can affect both children and adults.

- Nose bleed cases linked to nasal dryness, irritation, or underlying conditions are evaluated to identify contributing factors.

- Hearing loss may be gradual or sudden and is assessed through clinical examination and relevant hearing tests.

- Tinnitus, often described as ringing or buzzing sounds, is evaluated in relation to hearing health and associated symptoms.

Nose & Sinus Conditions

Nasal and sinus conditions can interfere with breathing, sleep, and overall comfort, particularly when symptoms are persistent.

- Allergic rhinitis commonly causes sneezing, nasal congestion, and a runny or itchy nose.

- Sinus infections may lead to facial pressure, blocked nose, or nasal discharge and are assessed based on symptom duration and severity.

- Nasal obstruction or breathing difficulties are reviewed to determine structural, inflammatory, or allergy-related causes.

Throat & Voice Conditions

Throat and voice symptoms can affect communication, swallowing, and quality of life, especially when they do not resolve on their own.

- Chronic cough is assessed for possible ENT-related triggers, including post-nasal drip or throat irritation.

- Persistent throat discomfort may involve ongoing irritation, a sensation of something stuck in the throat, or recurrent soreness.

- Hoarseness or voice changes are evaluated through voice history and examination of the vocal cords when indicated.

- Difficulty swallowing is assessed carefully to understand possible structural or functional causes.

Head & Neck Conditions

Conditions affecting the head and neck often require careful examination to clarify their nature and determine appropriate next steps.

- Vertigo may involve a spinning sensation or balance disturbance and is assessed in relation to the inner ear and neurological symptoms.

- Thyroid concerns presenting as neck lumps or swallowing discomfort are evaluated with clinical examination and relevant investigations.

- Cervical lymph nodes that are enlarged or persistent are assessed to determine possible causes and whether further tests are required.

Sleep-Related Symptoms

Sleep-related breathing issues can affect daytime alertness, concentration, and overall well-being.

- Snoring is assessed for contributing anatomical or airway factors.

- Obstructive sleep apnea symptoms such as loud snoring, breathing pauses during sleep, or excessive daytime sleepiness are reviewed as part of a broader sleep assessment.

Each condition is assessed through a combination of history-taking, physical examination, and appropriate diagnostic tests, allowing management decisions to be made based on individual clinical findings.

Diagnostic Assessments and ENT Procedures

Careful assessment plays an important role in understanding ear, nose, and throat symptoms. Diagnostic examinations are used to clarify findings, explain symptoms clearly, and support informed management discussions.

Nasal endoscopy allows direct visual assessment of the nasal passages and sinus openings. It may be used to evaluate symptoms such as persistent nasal blockage, recurrent sinus issues, nose bleeds, or suspected structural concerns. The examination helps identify inflammation, polyps, or other changes within the nasal cavity.

Laryngoscopy is used to examine the throat and vocal cords. It is commonly performed for individuals experiencing hoarseness, voice changes, chronic throat discomfort, or swallowing concerns. This examination supports evaluation of vocal cord movement and throat structures related to speech and breathing.

Ear microscopy provides a detailed view of the ear canal and eardrum. It is often used when assessing ear pain, infections, discharge, or hearing-related symptoms. The examination supports clearer visual assessment during both evaluation and minor in-clinic procedures when required.

Hearing assessments help evaluate hearing levels and identify possible causes of hearing changes. These assessments may be recommended for individuals noticing gradual hearing loss, sudden changes, tinnitus, or balance-related symptoms. Results are reviewed together to guide further discussion and next steps.

These examinations support accurate evaluation and help guide management discussions based on individual clinical findings.

What to Expect During an ENT Consultation

An ENT consultation is structured to understand your concerns clearly and to explain findings in a straightforward way. The process focuses on careful assessment, open discussion, and helping you make informed decisions about your care.

Review of Symptoms and Medical History

The consultation usually begins with a discussion of your current symptoms, their duration, and any factors that may affect them. Relevant medical history, medications, and previous treatments are reviewed to provide context for the assessment.

ENT-Focused Physical Examination

A focused examination of the ears, nose, throat, and neck is carried out based on your symptoms. This helps identify visible signs that may be contributing to discomfort, hearing changes, breathing issues, or voice concerns.

Discussion on Further Assessments

Where appropriate, imaging, hearing tests, or endoscopic examinations may be discussed. These are considered when additional information would help clarify findings or support further evaluation.

Explanation of Findings

Findings are explained clearly, using simple language where possible. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and clarify any concerns about what has been identified during the assessment.

Discussion of Management Options

Management options are discussed based on individual findings. These may include medication, observation, in-clinic procedures, or surgical referral when indicated. The discussion focuses on suitability, potential considerations, and next steps rather than assumptions or outcomes.
